Shell scripting

A shell script for DevOps can automate deployment or infrastructure tasks, such as deploying applications to servers, setting up cloud resources, or running tests.

• What is #!/bin/bash? can we write #!/bin/sh as well?

  sh stands for "shell" and refers to the command-line interpreter program in Unix-like operating systems. It is a simple and portable shell that provides basic scripting capabilities.

  The full form of "Bash" is "Bourne Again SHell." It is a pun on the name of its predecessor, the Bourne shell (/bin/sh), which was one of the original Unix shells.
